BEACH WAVES HAIR: How to get beach waves hair with a straightener

Question

We all love the look of beach waves, but not everyone has the time or patience to wait for them to come naturally. That’s why I’m here to show you how to create perfect beach waves using just a straightener! Just follow these simple steps and you’ll have gorgeous tousled hair in no time at all:

Gather your tools

First, gather your tools. You’ll need:

  • A straightener (if you don’t have one, no worries! Just use a curling iron instead)
  • A comb or brush with fine teeth
  • A small-tooth comb for sectioning off your hair

Next to that, also set up your towel so that when it’s time to let the style cool down and set in place, you can wrap it up without worrying about burning yourself on the hot iron or damaging anything else in the process.

Set the iron temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Set the iron temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • If you’re using a flat iron, turn on the power button and wait for it to heat up (this can take anywhere from two minutes to 10 minutes depending on your model). Once it’s hot enough, glide in small sections of hair from root to tip with gentle pressure while twisting your wrist back and forth as you go along. Repeat this step until all strands are straightened out completely–don’t forget about those pesky bangs!

Section off hair into two sections. One about 1/2-inch in width and the other about 1-inch wide.

Take a section of hair from your crown, or back of your head and divide it into two even sections with your fingers. Place one hand on top of the other and twist them together until you reach all of your hair at once (or as much as possible). This will help prevent any tangles while you straighten, which can happen if you don’t take care during this step!

Take the smaller section of hair and separate it into two groups of strands. Position the iron vertically at the root of each strand and wrap around until reaching the end point of each strand. Use a comb or brush to smooth down any flyaways or kinks.

It’s easier than you think!

You may think that beach waves hair is a product of the ocean or some other magical place, but it’s actually easy to achieve with just a few tools.

The best part? You don’t need a professional stylist or even an expensive tool! All you need is your straightener and a curling iron (or two). If you’re looking for more volume, try using two different sizes of curling irons to get more volume at the roots.

If you want even more control over where your curls land, try using different sized barrels on each side of your head–one smaller than the other–and then sectioning off pieces with bobby pins before curling them up from underneath into loose curls that fall away from each other as they travel down toward their destination spot at the nape of your neck.

If you’re looking to achieve the perfect beach waves, this is the way to go! The iron will give your hair a soft curl without damaging it.
