AIR DRY OR TOWEL DRY HAIR: Should I air dry my hair or towel dry it?
I’m a big fan of air drying my hair. It’s cheaper for your energy bill, saves time and prevents damaging heat damage to your hair. But does it work? I mean, do you look like a wet dog after toweling off? Is it better to towel dry or let the breeze take care of everything? Let’s break down the pros and cons of each technique so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not you should air dry your locks:
Air drying is better for your hair.
Air drying helps you save money and the environment.
It also makes your hair look healthier by giving it more volume, shine and bounce than it would have if you’d used a blow dryer or flat iron.
Towel drying your hair can cause breakage, frizz and split ends. It also leaves the cuticle of your hair open, which causes it to dry out much faster than if you had let it air dry. The reason why people towel dry their hair is because they believe that this method will help them get ready faster by reducing their drying time. However, there are other ways of speeding up this process without damaging your locks in any way!
WET HAIR MAKES YOU LOOK FAT.
Wet hair can make your face look fatter…and older.
This is because when you have wet hair, the water acts like a magnifying glass on the skin, making wrinkles and fine lines appear more pronounced.
Wet hair also makes it harder to see your features because the moisture causes your eyes to squint, giving an unintentional “scrunchy” appearance that can make you look older than you really are.
AIR DRYING IS CHEAPER FOR YOUR ENERGY BILL.
You may not have realized it, but the fact that you’re reading this article means that you care about the environment. That’s great! There are lots of ways to reduce your impact on the planet and one of them is by using less energy when drying your hair.
Air drying uses less energy than using a hairdryer–and if you’re going for an eco-friendly lifestyle, then air-drying might be right for you. Although there are some downsides (like having to wait longer), there are also benefits: for example, air drying can help strengthen your locks in some cases because it doesn’t damage them as much as heat does!
YOUR HAIR IS MORE DURABLE IF YOU LET IT AIR DRY.
Air drying your hair will make it more durable. The longer you leave your hair to air dry, the less likely it is that you’ll have to deal with frizziness and flyaways. If you towel dry, then heat style right away (as most people do), there’s a greater chance of damage to both your scalp and strands.
Air drying also helps make styling easier because the natural oils in our scalps can soften up these tough little strands of protein known as keratinocytes–making them less likely to break off after manipulation by a brush or comb through the use of heat styling tools like flat irons or curling irons; even blow-drying has been shown to weaken this protective layer over time so if possible try not using those too often either!
AIR DRYING CAN MAKE YOUR HAIR HEALTHIER.
Air drying your hair is a great way to make it healthier. Drying your hair in a natural environment will help you fight dandruff and acne, as well as lice and other bugs that might be lurking around in your bathroom.
- Air drying is cheaper for your energy bill.
- Your hair is more durable if you let it air dry.
- Air drying can make your hair healthier and shinier in the long run, so even if it takes longer to dry, the results will be worth it!
We hope that we’ve convinced you to give air drying a try. If not, don’t worry! It’s not the end of the world if you have to towel dry your hair every day–but it will make your life (and ours) much easier if you can embrace this simple beauty routine.
